Overview

The Town Board is the main governing body in the Town of Patterson. The Supervisor is the chief elected official, and serves a term of 4 years. Town Councilman serve terms of 4 years.

The Town Board typically meets twice each month, but please consult the Town Board calendar for specific meeting dates and times. These regularly scheduled Board meetings are open to the public. A specific agenda is followed in each meeting, but there is usually time at the end of each meeting for "public recognition", during which attendees are welcome to ask questions or make comments.

If you have an item that you would like to bring to the Board's attention, please contact the Supervisor's office and leave a message for the Supervisor or a Councilman. You may request that your issue be added to an agenda for a future Board meeting. The Supervisor and all Councilmen are available to assist you in resolving any matter of concern for which you need Town assistance.

Services Available through the Supervisor's Office

Email Notification List

The Supervisor’s Office is implementing a Subscriber’s List to provide Residents with electronic notification of relevant topics posted to the town website. For more information and to subscribe click here.

Parking Permits for the Disabled

Residents with severe disabilities can contact the Supervisor's Office for the NYS DMV application for special license plates or parking permits. Permits are made available to residents with valid driver's licenses who have a doctor-certified physical impairment. Notary

The Supervisor's Office can supply Notary services for Town residents.

Stormwater Reports

Putnam County and the six towns of the County were required to submit stormwater remediation and phosphorus reduction plans to the NYS DEC by December 31, 2009. The Town of Patterson retained Malcolm Pirnie do a preliminary assessment of the conditions in Patterson. The final report from Malcolm Pirnie is available here for download and other reports may be posted in the future as they become available.

Putnam Lake Water Quality

The Putnam County Dept. of Health has published its "Action Plan for Continued Surveillance in the Putnam Lake Area". The Action Plan and the latest Nitrate and Bacteria Sampling Results for the Putnam Lake Area are available on the Putnam County DOH website.

Homeowners can take advantage of low cost loans and grants for septic and other home improvements through a program administered by the Putnam County Housing Corporation. Income restrictions apply. [details]
